Roadblocks and Websites - Day 2

Charlie Thorsen on March 4, 2010

It's 7:45 am. Got the call this morning at 6 am, saying there was no school. Tami and I had been up since 5:15am and I had been looking at the news on the internet, so I knew the call would come.

On top of that, a bonus: the gas truck came around our neighborhood this morning around 6:30am, blasting it's airhorn announcing that it's on our street and selling gas. I grabbed our empty LP tank and dashed for the truck. Good thing we were up already.

I'm in the middle of posting work on the CCS website for the students to do their work at home again today. Tami is busy typing herDoing school work at home because of roadblocksDoing school work at home because of roadblocks assignments to send to the right person via email to post on the website. In order to avoid losing school days, the students need to work at home. Yesterday went pretty good. Tomorrow when we go to school, we'll see how things really worked.

If you are interested you can see what we've been doing on www.carachipampa.org

Also, if you want to check your spanish, (or how the Google toolbar translates Spanish) you can go to http://www.opinion.com.bo/04/03/2010/abusos-en-paro-de-transporte-y-gobierno-aplica-mano-dura/ to see the news about the roadblocks. There are pictures there too of what the roadblocks look like and what takes place in the city.

We're safe in our house, far from the roadblocks. The road in front of the school is a main road, which was blocked all day and into the night. It will be blocked again today.

We'll be preparing for Kids Club today and organizing things for that along with helping Austin and Caris with their school work for today. Caris was supposed to have her chapel today. It may be rescheduled for next Thursday.

We take things one day at a time...

Thanks for praying!
