Getting Used to the States

Charlie Thorsen on May 21, 2009

We’ve been in the US for a little over a week, and we’re still getting used to…

…smooth roads!

…Walmart!

…green grass and big yards!

…garage door openers!

…frozen vegetables!

Again, we praise the Lord for how he brought us here so quickly and supplied a van to use through one of our support team members. We are grateful to be able to be with Tami’s family right now. Friends from Tami’s parents’ church have provided several meals which is a great help! Thank-you!

Tami’s mom remains in the hospital undergoing therapy to regain movement in her left side. Austin and Caris go to the hospital to help her with her “exercises” every morning at 9 AM. We make several visits each day between her therapy sessions.

Please continue to pray for Tami’s mom, that she would continue to regain control in her left side that was affected by the stroke.

CCS…

We left in such a hurry that we took some of our school work with us. We have some grading yet to do and email back to the school before the end of the year so grades can be done. Before we left Charlie met with the seniors and that was the last time he would see most of them. They talked about what to do with graduation, as they had asked Charlie to be the speaker for that night. They decided they wanted Charlie to still speak, but via video. So Charlie needs to work on a graduation address in front of his webcam and upload it so the school can download it and have it ready for graduation June 5.

Pray that we can have the time to get this done too.

Other things…

While we are in the states we want to make an appointment with the eye doctor about Tami’s eye too. Please pray for these details, that we can use our time wisely and get these and other appointments done, while being an encouragement to Tami’s mom and dad.

Thanks for praying for us during these times!
