What A Week!
A lot has happened in the last week. We’d like to take a minute to update you on this week’s events.
Last week we received an email from Tami’s sister telling us that her mom, who had been in the hospital for pneumonia, had had a stroke. Upon finding out, SIM Bolivia encouraged us to leave for our scheduled 2 month Home Assignment 1 month earlier than planned.
So we are writing you from Iowa! We arrived this afternoon. God showed himself in SO many different ways this week, and as you were praying for us this week, God…
1. …allowed Austin and Caris’ new passports, which had expired to be ready on Monday of this week.
2. …allowed our airline tickets to be changed in one day.
3. …supplied the teachers needed to cover all of Tami and my Bible classes.
4. …supplied a team of people to oversee and help with sound for Graduation and several other big end of the school year events.
5. …supplied a person to help with PE classes for Charlie (a paramedic from South Africa!)
6. …supplied a Bolivian friend to “house-sit “ for us while we are gone the extra month of May, June, July and beginning of August.
7. …allowed us to calmly pack in less than a day, along with the regular teaching responsibilities of this week (Charlie spoke in chapel this Wednesday, telling the students of what happened and that we were leaving the next day.)
8. …granted understanding to the senior class who had asked Charlie to be the speaker at graduation. (He will still do this, but via video.)
9. …supplied a van for us to use while we are in the states.
We ask that you would pray for Tami’s mom and dad. Their basement also flooded from a big storm that went through the area a couple weeks ago. They and Tami’s sister have had a lot to deal with this last week.
Thank you for your continued partnership with us through prayer! We stand amazed at how God brought this change together so smoothly.
We are also very grateful to our SIM Bolivia Family and school family who have been so encouraging and supportive!
Thanks everyone!
