Praise and Prayer Over a Hard Month

Charlie Thorsen on October 11, 2011

We have been back in Bolivia just over a month now...the hardest month so far...

PRAISE God for...
  • His guidance to quality doctors to oversee Tami's eye treatment here in Bolivia.
  • His gracious relief to Tami (just this past week) from terrible eye pain/discomfort she had endured the entire month of September.
  • His sovereign care as the medication Tami has to take calls for weekly blood lab analysis.
  • His healing Caris' broken arm!  Her cast is off and she is doing very well!
  • His wisdom and grace as He tenderly teaches and refines our hearts and minds through very difficult circumstances/situations.
    • God has opened before us new areas of trusting Him completely, amidst situations which we must battle enemies of great fear and discouragement.
    • God has reminded us through His Word, Spirit and His people that we can truly bank on His promises for each and every condition of life!  This has been extremely difficult training these days!
  • His provision for the Bella Vista Church roof repair, through the generous offerings from our partners!  YOU!  Thank you!
    • We met with Pastor Freddy to talk/pray over the steps involved for the roof repair.
    • The church has the funds now to proceed as early as next week!
    • The rains have begun, but are not too often and too long...yet!
Please PRAY...
  • For God's wisdom to know if the dry, dusty climate here in Cochabamba is a healthy environment for Tami to continue living.  And if not, that we would clearly see what Next Step he has for our family.
  • That our rest/peace would be found in God alone and not in our own understanding.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)
    • Our hearts wrestle daily with our natural desire to know what to do next and God's desire to have us wait on His timing and guidance.
    • Please pray that we would seek His peace and ways and not seek human control over situations that seem impossible.
  • That Tami's body would continue to handle the medication well.  Some levels in her blood are out of normal range, but the doctors say it is not dangerous.
  • That our family would learn the lessons He wants to teach us through these hard days.
  • That the church would be able to get the old roof off and the new roof on BEFORE the downpour rains that are just a month away!
    • The Pastor has asked us to consider holding a month of Sunday church services at our home while the roof cement sets. Pray for our family as we make this decision.  Pray that God would use these services to reach out to our neighbors with the Good News!
    • Pray for good weather and a great turn out of people to work on the roof these next coming weeks.
  • That our financial support would continue to provide for our heavy medical bills.
Thank you for your prayers on our behalf, and for God's great glory!
